Pittsburgh Irish Rowing Club

 We hope that after visiting our site you will learn more about some of the different types of Irish boats and the folks that are competing in them here and across the U.S.A.!

New practice location at Groveton Boat Club ( directions)..St. Brendan's Cup Regatta was held Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Groveton Boat Club with Pittsburgh winning the St. Brendan's Cup! Pittsburgh also captured the Milwaukee Cup on August 18. Next events: Boston on September 2, Annapolis on September 8, and the season will end with the regatta in Albany, NY on September 22. Wish us luck!

Practice Information

  • Practice for the 2012 season --as always, weather and river conditions permitting.
  • Practices are held during the rowing season (Weather and River Conditions Permitting): Tuesdays & Thursdays at 6 p.m. and Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. for current rowers (10:00 a.m. for first-year rowers)
  • We have a new location since 2011--Groveton Marina on the west bank of the Ohio River, in the back channel of Neville Island
