 We hope that after viewing our site you will learn more about some of the different types of Irish boats and the folks that are competing in them here and across the U.S.A.!

Practice Information

  • Practice for the 2009 season has begun--as always, weather and river conditions permitting.
  • Practices are held during the rowing season (Weather and River Conditions Permitting)
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays at 6 PM and
  • Saturdays at 9:00 AM for current rowers (10:00 AM for first-year rowers)
  • at the All-States Marina in Glenfield, PA. Driving Directions

This is an intense sport--contact Patrick Clark for tryout information.

 UPDATE & EVENTS: Looking forward to the 2009 season...It's our 25th Anniversary! VICTORY in Philadelphia on Saturday, June 20..Major season-opening win for the Pittsburgh team. Next stop--COLUMBUS on July 11!

 

  • Pittsburgh Irish Rowing Club Celebrates 25 years of rowing and racing the curragh on the rivers in Pittsburgh
  • Pittsburgh St. Brendan's Cup Regatta scheduled for Saturday, July 25, 2009. Races start at noon.
  • Special thanks to All States Marina for hosting the regatta, and to Mullaney's Harp & Fiddle for hosting the awards reception.
